Gaga + Simon Curtis: Pop Music Will Never Be The Same!

On Monday, May 9th, Lady Gaga released what was suppose to be only the first of two promotional singles for her upcoming album, Born This Way. "The Edge of Glory" is a soft ballad set to an uptempo beat, a departure from the loud first two singles that carry more of a dance club vibe. Inspired by the death of her grandfather, Gaga wrote the song at her piano and the emotion of that moment can be felt on this track. The vocals that are heard are some of the artist's best and the solo saxophone performance just gives the song a little something extra. Once the song was released it did not take long to reach the top spot of iTunes' Top 100 chart, a top ten debut on Billboard's Hot 100 is to be expected. Critics and fans alike have given the song positive acclaim, with some critics saying the track should have been released as the first single for the album. After the good reception, Gaga and her team decided to make the track the official third single which was a good decision in my opinion. The song is something different from the singer, and it shows the range she will show once the album finally comes out on May 23rd. Paws Up!

What do you think of Gaga's third single "The Edge of Glory"? Is it really better than "Born This Way" and "Judas"?

After the release of his free debut album, 8Bit Heart, last year, Simon Curtis has finally decided to let his fans hear the first single off of his brand new project. Yesterday, Curtis released "Superhero" exclusively on JustJared which will then be on iTunes for purchase on May 16th. The song bares some similarities to the work that was heard on his debut, but it sounds like Curtis has become more confident with his vocals and songwriting. The song is a great way for Simon to introduce himself to a wider audience, he is not following the normal steps of a pop artist, but creating something entirely different and unique. The track carries a serious message, but it is set to a beat that would make people rock their head and move their feet. Many people may not know his name now, but that will surely change once Simon gets more traction and recognition from critics and a bigger audience. Hopefully with a label supporting him Curtis can make a big splash on the charts which he truly deserves for all of the hard work that he has put into his craft of making catchy pop songs. Be sure to look out for Simon and his new single once it is officially released. Robot Army unite!

*Be sure to come back Tuesday for my full review of Natalia Kills' "Perfectionist"! An artist whose music has been on my favorites list for quite some time!
