I took the liberty to pick my favourite trends of this season. Vancouver has been finally blessed with warm summer-like weather.  That is what inspired me to read this article. So these are the chosen few. Frock Of Ages APPROVED!

Sequins

To say sequins and sparkles will be a big deal next summer is an understatement. In every fashion capital, glitter prevailed, starting with Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs right through to Gucci (pictured here), Dior and Chanel. Style yours with a sweatshirt to give them daytime longevity.

Pastels

Whether lilac, pink, lemon or duck egg blue, expect to see an array of fashion's prettiest shades next season. But as Victoria Beckham (pictured) said "delicacy can be strong"; saccharine these colours are not - consider tailoring in ice cream hues or wearing them in unexpected ways like at Celine.

Checks

It looks as if heritage checks are going nowhere for the season ahead. Balenciaga's came via voluminous coats as seen here, while Victoria Beckham's had a more traditional appeal. Anyone looking for floaty feminine styles should turn to Sonia Rykiel where they were bright and summer-ready. Burberry's

homage was perhaps the most overt - expect to see its check caps everywhere next season.

Plastic

Perfect for British summers, waterproof plastics were a predominant look for spring/summer 2018. As seen at Chanel (pictured), Isabel, Marant, Burberry, Topshop, Calvin Klein and Fendi, plastic in varying shades will be everywhere in 12 months time.

Fringing

Fringing made a surprise comeback this season. Far from its most recent (very tired) festival incarnations, Celine (pictured), Bottega Veneta and Loewe gave them a sophisticated, empowered appeal. Saint Laurent's fringing boots have already been worn by Rihanna.

Bold colour

Next summer will be very bright indeed if the catwalks are anything to go by - least of all at Christopher Kane (pictured) and Roksanda Ilincic. From New York to Paris, the shows were awash with vibrant, bold shades to suit every colouring.

Sheer

Transparency was a headlining trend - sheer coats, dresses and skirts revealed cycling shorts and full briefs. Basically, it's all about what lies beneath next season, as demonstrated here at Dior. Consider it a more demure take on the ubiquitous naked dress.

Ruffles

Ruffles added a feminine air yet again this season, with Erdem (pictured), Alexander McQueen, Givenchy and Valentino all incorporating them in their respective shows.

Cinderella shoes

If next season's glitzy sequinned ready-to-wear is too much for you, then perhaps a sparkling Cinderella shoe is an alternative. Preen's Multiple bags

feminine floaty dresses were styled with socks and glittery Mary Janes (pictured), while Victoria Beckham's take (inspired by daughter Harper) had a more pronounced heel. It should be noted that socks and shoes are making a comeback too - see Miu Miu for more details. 

If you're one of those people who carries both a tote bag and a handbag, then you're ahead of the game. Chanel (pictured), Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci adopted a more really is more approach to accessories by styling their models with two or more bags at once.
