Isaac's Socks and Other Stuff

My grandsons, Isaac and Owen are coming today to spend the day and have a sleepover.
Isaac has some pretty interesting socks... he wore these the last time he came to visit.  They are his eyeball socks.  Aren't they fun?

I'm recovering this rocking chair for our daughter, Katelyn...
...it looks gray here but it is a faded blue.

She wanted the chair to look like this one...
...a nice soft gray.

So, of course she selected this fabric...
...because it's almost the same, right?  Soft... and gray...

So, yesterday I was working on the seat cover and decided that I would see if I could learn how to make the piping (cording?) that was on the original chair.  So I Googled (what on earth did we ever do before Google?  And Ziplock bags? And crockpots? And the remote control for the TV?) "How do I make my own piping?", and lo and behold this website popped up!  Simple, easy to follow instructions.... with pictures!  I love a tutorial that has pictures!  So, after some serious pinning (and a couple of pinpricks the required the use of hubby's styptic pencil)...

some intense sewing with the zipper foot...

...I did it!

So... now I have to take the back cover apart and resew it.  Why, you ask?  Because when I made the back cover I had convinced myself that replacing the piping was not something I could attempt...  much too difficult.

Ha!  I guess I showed me!

Thanks for dropping by...
