It seems that Laura Ashley is not all Aga-filled kitchens with dog baskets and padded kitchen chairs after all. Laura's definitely had a make-over. That armchair is perfection, particularly with the chocolate brown wall behind it. Not sure what colour that fabric is.....raspberry pink? I love it.
I know they've had these mirrored bedside tables and chests of drawers for a while, but I hadn't ever seen them paired so stunningly with a sea-green headboard and bed coverings. The striped curtains in this room are perfection.
This is not so radically different, but it's so fresh and uncomplicated and without a cabbage rose in sight, that I thought it noteworthy.
Is that chair furry? I just want to sit in it and find out (note to self: don't wear black)
Mimi-12 would love to live here. If you can imagine the floor strewn with scarves, shoes, books and sports clothes it would complete the picture.Laura hasn't completely thrown out the roses with the bathwater however, and they certainly have their place. I saw these boots in the window of our local homewares shop and I know they're as twee as can be, but I just LOVE them.
Particulary on a cold, damp, wintery day like we're having today. I would be loving myself silly in these whilst hanging out the washing (that never seems to dry because it's too cold). I would pretend I was on a farm in the Cotswolds with Irish setters bouncing playfully around my feet. Okay, enough of the laundry fantasies.
