My daughter sends this image of the swan that sits warming eggs on her nest in the local pond each Spring. Imagine having a clutch of babies every year! Although I suppose they do also leave home every year, soon learn to find their own food, don't continually grow out of and wear out their clothes and don't need a university education to be funded. Being a male swan might not be so bad then, but a female perhaps not so much.
